Creative Rebranding: Swap Social

In a collaborative industry brief for Birmingham City University's sustainable fashion initiative, Swap Social, our team were asked to rebrand the start-up.
As appointed art director of the group, my role involved spearheading the creation of comprehensive brand guidelines for our elevated version of Swap Social. Tasked with aligning brand assets with the brand's distinctive aesthetic, my responsibilities extended to communicating the brand identity through innovative design solutions.
I designed the new logo, colour palette, and brand aesthetic, ensuring cohesion across touchpoints and a consistent visual language.
Beyond design, I contributed to the brand elevation strategy, leveraging consumer feedback to inform design iterations and ensure relevance to the target audience. I also designed interactive product tags, bespoke event clothing, a ‘Sustainable Passport,’ and a Pop-up Exhibition Kit, reinforcing the brand’s identity and purpose.
Working closely with my team on a promotional strategy for both internal and external events, our goal was to reposition Swap Social as a dynamic, contemporary force in sustainable fashion that challenges the stigma around second-hand shopping and creates a brand that feels both aspirational and accessible.
